Lectal Coherence in Articulation and Effects of Articulatory Experience on Accents

Konstantin Sering (Tübingen University)

This project explores how articulatory experience and learning shape lectal coherence and accent variation. Focusing on Central Swabian and South Bavarian, it uses computational modelling with the articulatory speech synthesis tool PAULE to analyse coherence in articulatory movements and their acoustic outcomes. By comparing natural and artificially mixed dialect models, the project investigates how accents emerge from articulatory training and how AI-based modelling can reveal the structural basis of lectal coherence.
